Judith A. "Judy" (Marcella) Smith, a 13 year resident of Melrose and former longtime resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was 76 years of age.
Judy was born in Boston on April 2, 1942, a daughter of the late Thomas Marcella and Dora (Dionne) Marcella. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston public school system. Judy was a homemaker most of her adult life who always cherished the very special family moments she spent with her husband, children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and baking, traveling to the Caribbean with her husband and spending time in Florida and Wakefield, New Hampshire at the lake with her family.
Judy is the beloved wife of the late Robert H. "Bobby" Smith. She is the devoted mother of Darlene Smith, Mark Smith and his wife Lesley, Karen O'Neil and her husband Steven, David Smith and his wife Kelly, Wayne Smith, Judy Smith and her fiancé Andrew Grzelcyk, Shannon Sclafani and her husband Frank and the late Robert T. Smith. She is the loving Nana to 22 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of the late Helen Awbrey, John Marcella, Robert Marcella and Cheryl Ferreira. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Judy's visiting hours on Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 4 to 8 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Her Funeral Service and burial will be strictly private.
