Obituary

Frances Amelia Spinks Caver, 68, wife of Henry Christopher “Chris” Caver, III, of Simpsonville, SC, entered into eternal rest Saturday, August 11, 2018.

Born in Augusta, GA, she was a daughter of the late Ira L. Spinks, Sr. and Amelia Craig Spinks.

Frances graduated Valedictorian of Aquinas High School and was an honors graduate of St. Mary’s College, Notre Dame Indiana.

Frances was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. A life-long devoted Catholic, she served on the Liturgy and Bereavement Committees, as youth advisor, and the Council of Catholic Women as past president. Frances taught at St. Mary’s on the Hill, Augusta, GA; St. Mary’s in Aiken, SC, and St. Mary’s in Greenville, SC.

She also served as Director of Training for The Spinx Company, Greenville, SC, and retired from Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast, Simpsonville, SC.

Surviving, in addition to her loving husband Chris, are two sons, Craig Caver and Will Caver and his wife Melissa, all of Simpsonville, SC; a sister, Cecilia Spinks Camp and husband Paul, of Savannah, GA; two brothers, Craig Spinks and Pete Spinks, both of Augusta, GA, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

The Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 13, 2018 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast, 1604 NE Main Street, Simpsonville, SC.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at 1:00 pm, at St. Mary’s on the Hill Catholic Church, 1420 Monte Sano Avenue, Augusta, GA. Interment will be at Westover Memorial Park, Augusta, GA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aquinas High School, 1920 Highland Avenue, Augusta, GA 30904.
