Barbara J. Tomlinson, 53, of Johnston, died Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. She was the daughter of Carole (Dodge) Stevens and the late Ernest Tomlinson and stepdaughter of the late Robert E. Stevens, who died June 9, 2018. She was the longtime companion of Richard Correia.
Born in Providence, she grew up in North Providence and later lived in Johnston. She was a graduate of North Providence High School, class of 1983.
Barbara worked at several area insurance companies, including MetLife, AAA and most recently at Beacon Mutual Insurance Company as an underwriting assistant.
She loved vacationing in Cape Cod and running in the sand with her best friend, Penelope. She will be sorely missed.
Besides her mother and companion, she is survived by her children: Kathryn and Jake Tomlinson, her brother, James Tomlinson of Holly Springs, NC, her step siblings: Robert Stevens of Woonsocket, Denise Stevens of West Warwick, Shelley Lange of Smithfield, Christena Murphy of Woonsocket and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:30am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. A Funeral Service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday at 10am in Trinity Episcopal Church, 249 Danielson Pike, North Scituate, RI 02857 Visitation Tuesday 8:30-9:30am. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church
