Obituary

Richard J. Landis, 70, a longtime resident of Hanson passed on Tuesday August 7th at the Seasons Hospice Palliative Care in Milton following declining health. He was the loving husband and best friend to Donna (Conway) Landis for 40 years.

Dick was the son of Elizabeth P. Landis and the late Richard O. Lund Landis who passed away May 19, 2014 at the age of 93.

He was a graduate of Whitman-Hanson Class of 1965, Dick was proud to join the United States Navy in 1965 as a SeaBee and served two tours in Vietnam.

Dick was a self-employed as a carpenter for over 40 years, his Father would say he wasn’t just a carpenter; he was a “Master Carpenter”.

In his free time he loved to go fishing. He also leaves his beautiful loving Mastif named Tilly. They enjoyed long naps on the couch.

In addition to his mother and wife, Dick is survived by his children Scott R. Landis and his wife Staci of Hanson, Ryan P. Landis and his partner Hilary Hayward of NY, Chelsea A. Landis and her friend Dan Wallace of Hanson, twins Patrick J. and Peter J. Landis of Hanson, Troy R., John W., and Brian T. Landis all of Maine, Bruce A. Wyman of Hyannis and like a son Joshua Yaeger of Halifax, his loving sister of whom they would do anything for each other, Ann T. McLaughlin and her husband Bernard of Kingston; also many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, loving relatives and many friends
