Donald F. Cleveland, 89, of Dartmouth, died Tuesday August 7, 2018 at Care One at New Bedford. He was the husband of Therese J. "Terri" (Blanchette) Cleveland, to whom he was married for 68 years.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Milton and Loretta (LaPointe) Cleveland, he was formerly employed as a machinist at Hathaway Machinery in Fairhaven and Baader Industries in New Bedford before his retirement. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his wife; his five children, Donna Self and her husband Corby of Tennessee, Christine Couto and her husband Michael of Dartmouth, Gary Cleveland and his wife Doreen of Fairhaven, Milton Cleveland and his wife Sharon of Florida, and Jennifer Chisser and her husband Kurt of Bourne; and his brother and best friend, Frank Cleveland of Freetown. He was also the proud Grandfather to twelve grandchildren, and Great-Grandfather to twelve plus one on the way.
Donald was predeceased by his sons, Ronald and Andrew Cleveland, his sister Janice Peters, and his sister-in-law Ida Cleveland.
His Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday August 15, 2018 at 10 AM in the First Church of the Nazarene, 764 Hathaway Road, New Bedford. Visiting hours are omitted.
