Obituary


Mr. Prager, a Boston resident, passed away at the Hospice House in Lincoln on August 8, 2018.

Born in Somerville, February 4, 1931, he graduated from Salem High School in 1948, attended Boston University, and graduated from Pratt Institute in 1952. He owned and operated Major Glass Company, which helped erect and remodel a number of Boston’s landmark buildings, including the First National Bank of Boston headquarters and Government Center. He sold the company in 1980.

Mr. Prager was a philanthropist and contributor to many charitable organizations, particularly in Boston and on the North Shore. Mr. Prager served as President of the Salem Rotary Club and Vice-President and Trustee of the Salem YMCA. He was also a Trustee of two banks, and of The Glaziers’ Union (Boston).

Predeceased by his wife, Kimberly Prager, in 2015, he will be greatly missed by his sons, Richard (Beverly) and Michael (Georgina), his daughter Judith Berkowitz (Arieh), six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salem Rotary Scholarship Fund, PO Box 608, Salem, MA 01970.
