Theresa “Terry” M. Courchaine, 74, of Noank passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. The was born on August 4, 1944 to Joseph and Annabell (Hill) Courchaine who predeceased her.
Terry grew up in Noank and was a proud “Noanker”. She graduated from Fitch Senior High School in 1962. She ran a house-cleaning service for over 40 years where she not only cleaned homes but nurtured the people within.
She was an avid NASCAR and Jimmy Johnson fan. She enjoyed UCONN basketball and was a talented gardener.
Terry is survived by her daughter, Diana D. Hutchinson of Mystic and her son Duane Dunphy and his fiancée Paula Doiron of New London. Known to her grandchildren as “Bamy” she is survived by four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; Heather Lynn Dunphy ("Sweet Pea Princess")and her boyfriend Manny Figueroa and Heather’s son Zachary “Z-Man” Andrews; Brittney Voss ("Rambling Rose Princess") and her husband Eric of New Haven; Roxanna C. Hutchinson (Lovely Lilac Princess) and her son Braylen Wayne Perkins; and Trevor J. Hutchinson and his boyfriend Shane Huey. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her sister Margaret Ann and nephew Brent Hawkey who died in May of 2017.
Her family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, August 10, from 3 to 6pm at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 6:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be private for the family.
