Obituary

CLANCY, Nancy M. 92, a longtime resident of Wellesley, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2018 at the Elizabeth Seton Nursing Home in Wellesley. Nancy, a dedicated and highly respected teacher, taught junior high school English for over 40 years, initially in Millis but for the majority of her career in Arlington. Nancy was born in Johnstown, NY and was a graduate of Emmanuel College in Boston. She was the daughter of Dr. Michael E. Nolan and Mrs. Martha Nolan, both deceased.

Nancy was predeceased by her husband Michael J. Clancy of Norwood, by her sister Sue Dias of Wellesley, and by her brother Dr. Brian E. Nolan of Springfield, IL. She is survived by her beloved twin sister Joan Nolan of Wellesley, by her daughter Margaret (Clancy) Lenox and Margaret’s husband Edward Lenox both of Wrentham, by two grandchildren Christopher Lenox of Norfolk, and Kimberly Rockers of Westwood, by three great-grandchildren Caroline Lenox, Michael Lenox, and Susannah Rockers, and by numerous nieces and nephews.

After retiring from teaching, Nancy worked for years at Long’s Jewelers in Wellesley and E.A. Davis in Wellesley. Nancy, a lifelong devout Catholic, was a parishioner at St. Paul Church in Wellesley.

The funeral services for Nancy, at her request, will be private.
