Obituary

Carleton E. Holt, 91, of Berlin, passed away peacefully on Monday July 23, 2018 at the St. Vincent de Paul Nursing and Rehab Center, where he considered the staff as family. He was born in Berlin on May 5, 1927 the son of Ernest and Mildred (Williams) Holt and was a lifelong resident. He served with the US Navy during World War II and had been employed in the auto industry, lastly as a shop foreman at The Auto Mart. Carleton was a member of the White Mountain Post #2520, VFW in Berlin and loved wood working, making puzzles and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Family includes his children David Holt and wife Ellen, Keith Holt and wife Sharon and Karen Taylor and husband Richard; 6 grandchildren David Holt and wife Brenda, Jessica Whithear and husband James, Christopher Taylor, Bradley Taylor and wife Deana, Rebecca Taylor and finance Tom Mailloux and Amy Holt and significant other Derrick Gardner; 5 great grandchildren Lindsay Holt, Alexandria Whithear, Ashlee Whithear, Zachary Whithear and Abel Taylor ; his sister Faye Napert; nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. He was predeceased by his wife Carrie (Angevine) Holt in 2010 and his son Bruce Holt in 1993 and by several siblings.

Private Graveside will be held on Tuesday August 28, 2018 at 2 PM at the Russian City Cemetery in Berlin. Arrangements are by the Bryant Funeral Homes. Donations in his memory may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Activities Fund.
