Daniel Redgnell Baker, 75, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Monday, July 16, 2018, at Pruitt Health in Ocilla.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Irwinville Baptist Church in Irwinville, Georgia. Interment will follow in the Irwinville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9 AM until the service hour at the church, on Saturday.
Mr. Baker was born August 5, 1942, in Loretto, Tennessee, to the late William & Katy Faulkner Baker. He attended North Alabama for several years and served his country honorably in the United States Marines. Mr. Baker was an electrician at Lockhead Martin in Marietta, Georgia, and a flight line supervisor. He enjoyed Friday night football, loved his animals and his family. He was a diehard Alabama fan. Mr. Baker was still playing football in the yard with kids at age 60. He was a member of Ocilla Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughters: Tracy Fletcher & Kyle of Irwinville and Jennifer Posey & Scott of Irwinville and a son Todd Baker of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: SGT Jeffery Allan Baker, SGT Stephan Redgnell Baker, Kyle Posey, Payton Smith & Daniel, Katerina Gardella and Brandon Baker and great-grandchildren: Jordyn Baker, Madyson Baker, Hiram Baker and Jason Baker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Diana Kay Littrell Baker; five brothers and one sister.
