Thomas M. Trevisani, Jr., passed away in peace with his life partner by his side. He was 76. Born and raised in Boston’s North End, Tommy was the son of the late Thomas and Viola (Casoli) Trevisani. He graduated from Everett High School and entered the Franciscan Order at Troy, NY. After departing the order, Tom earned his degree in English from Boston College. He also then earned his Master’s Degree in Teaching from BC the following year. A hardworking individual, Tom was interested in theatre and acting. He worked with Sr. Concanon a leader in Montessori Education. In 1966, Tom joined the English faculty at Arlington High School and later became the department head and administrator, serving until 2001, when he retired. A popular and prolific teacher, education was Tom’s life. He inspired generations of students and colleagues. He was an innovator and helped create the gay-straight alliance, the Safe Schools Program and initiated Holocaust Awareness in the schools. Tom loved to travel, spend time at the beach, visit Italy and read. As many of his colleagues did, Tom worked in the summers, sometimes at restaurants such as the Red Coach Grille. He spent many years working with the famed Old Mister Boston Liquors. He was devoted to his partner, Larry, their families and many friends.
The beloved partner of 57 years to Lawrence Bolognese, Thomas was a devoted brother to Michael Trevisani and his wife Barbara of Malden and the late Joseph Trevisani. Tom was a loving uncle of Joseph Trevisani, Jr., Thomas Trevisani III and his wife Lisa, Christine Hachey and her husband Steve, Michael D. Trevisani, Cheryl L. Trevisani, and is also survived by many other loving nieces and nephews.
Thomas’ funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday, July 18 at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Glenwood Cemetery, Everett. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit at the funeral home Monday 7 - 9 PM and Tuesday 4 - 8 PM.
