Theodore L. Collum age 94 of Abington died Friday June 29, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Mona (Goodwin) Collum for 74 years. Ted was born in Oxford, MA to Earl and Marjorie (Brownrigg) Collum and was raised in Avon. He was a graduate of Avon High School. He also attended Brockton Business College.
During WWII, Ted enlisted in the US Army and served in the European Theatre. Following his discharge, he began a lengthy career in the trucking industry. Ted and his wife had lived at Chestnut Glen in Abington for over 15 years, having previously living in Florida for 25 years.
In his free time, Ted enjoyed golf, fishing, cooking and watching sports. He loved his dog Brandy and enjoyed time spent with his grandkids and great grandkids.
Ted was the father of Dennis T. Collum and his wife Karen of Avon and leaves 5 grandchildren Jill Rathgeber and her husband William of Hanover, Collen Meurling of Bridgewater, Sharon DelPrete and her husband Peter of Hanover, Dennis Collum and his wife Ani of Norwell and Brian Collum and his wife Mollie of N. Easton. He also leaves 13 great grandchildren Sophie and Nicole Rathgeber, Sydney and Taylor Meurling, Nathan, Kelsey, Ashley and Nolan DelPrete, Olivia, Jack, Elle, Maeve and John Tyler Collum.
