Floye Elizabeth Sangster, 91, of Odum, Georgia, formerly of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Harborview Nursing Home in Jesup, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 4 PM, Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Ronald Rentz officiating. The family will receive friends, from 3 PM until 4 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Sangster was born December 17, 1926, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late Willie Wesley & Annie McCullough Seagroves. She grew up in Fitzgerald and was a spinner for Fitzgerald Mills for five years. She was also a homemaker and a prayer warrior and Christian mentor for many years to many people. She moved to Wayne County in 1954 and lived most of her life there. She was a member of Blanton Grove Church of God in Jesup.
She is survived by her son and his wife, Charles Aubrey “Chuck” Sangster & Joan of Jesup; two grandchildren: Billy & Vicki Parrish and Amy & Barry Hall and four great-grandchildren: Justin Sangster, Matthew Hall, Brandon Hall and Elijah Hall. Several nieces and nephews also survive including her longtime caretakers, Kathryn & Mickey Denison, their children: Robbie & Angie Denison and Christy Denison and their grandchildren: Haley Denison and Tyler Denison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Eugene Sangster and granddaughter, Laura Hall; six siblings: Ethel Wiley, Bobby Seagroves, Monroe Seagroves, Wilbur Seagroves, Bernice Lancaster and an infant.
