Obituary

DOVER: Robert “Bob” Louis DeFusco, 69, a longtime Dover resident, died suddenly on Saturday morning, July 7, 2018 in Massachusetts General Hospital. His beloved wife of 36 years, Carol (Clayton) DeFusco predeceased him in 2013.

Born and raised in Cranston, RI, he was the son of the late Louis J. DeFusco and Lucia (Cardi) DeFusco. After graduating from Cranston West High School, Bob attended and graduated from University of Rhode Island with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He worked in sales at Eveready Battery until his retirement in 1997.

Bob and Carol married on June 4, 1977 and lived in Falmouth, Maine, until they made Dover their home in 1983. Throughout his years in Dover, Bob served on various town boards and committees; Republican Town Committee and Dover Cable.

Bob enjoyed traveling the world with Carol, frequenting his family in Italy. He had a love for good food and enjoyed entertaining guests at his home. He had a passion for history, and he will be remembered for his business acumen and no-nonsense approach.

Bob was the pillar of his household. He loved time spent with family, especially his grandchildren. His dry sense of humor and sarcasm will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his three children: Jaclyn DeFusco Green and her husband Brian of Norfolk, Stephen DeFusco and his wife Courtney of Marshfield, and Jennifer DeFusco of Dover; grandchildren Kylie and Ryan Green and Jackson DeFusco; his brother, William DeFusco and his wife Toniann of Cranston, RI; his sister Roberta DeMarco and her husband Dennis of Cranston, RI; his nephews: John and Louis DeFusco and Cranston, RI; and his sister-in-law Marilyn Carroll of Providence, RI.

His funeral will be held on Thursday, July 12th in St. Mary’s Parish, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston, RI 02920 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, 73 Church Street, Cranston, RI.

Visiting hours will be held in John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, Natick, MA 01760 on Wednesday, July 11th from 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M.
