Obituary

David Stanley Dennis, 84, died June 21, 2018 at his residence in Ohio.
He was born on March 15, 1934 in Pontiac, MI and graduated from Pontiac Senior High School. He earned a degree Electrical Engineering from Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI and a Master of Science in Engineering from Purdue University. He was a member of Eta Kappa Nu, honorary electrical engineering society, and an active member of DESA the Destroyer Escort Sailor's Association.
Dave served three years as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy. He retired in 1987 as a Development Engineer from Delco Remy after 28 years of service. He retired from Purdue University Anderson in 1996 as an associate professor after 9 years of teaching and continued teaching for Purdue as an adjunct professor for 7 years. After retiring he did volunteer tutoring. He also enjoyed playing cards, golfing, and meeting with retired friends and Navy friends. He and his wife traveled extensively.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Jane Charlene (Blain) Dennis; daughters Diane (Arthur) Murakowski of OH and Linda Dennis of OH; son-in-law Max Hains of Frankton; nine grandchildren, and one great grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, sister, and daughter, Sharon Hains.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Noon on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Anderson Purdue Polytechnic Institute, (1920 Purdue Parkway- Anderson, IN 46016)
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Purdue Polytechnic Anderson General Scholarship Fund. Checks should be made payable to Purdue Foundation and mailed to Purdue Foundation, Dauch Alumni Center, 403 West Wood, West Lafayette, IN 47907-2007.
