Obituary

Marion L. Williams, 92, of North Scituate, died Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Greenville Skilled Nursing Center in Smithfield surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of Henry (Bud) Williams. They had been married for 69 years.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Chester A. and Mary (Clare) Ottinger. Marion was a Cook with the Scituate School Department. Marion and Bud built their home and raised their three daughters in N. Scituate. In retirement, they spent 22 winters at John Prince Park Campground in Lake Worth FL and were blessed to make many dear friends who they reunited with every winter. Marion and Bud were also avid square dancers and belonged to the “Clodhoppers” square dance club. They also enjoyed camping and spent many summer and fall weekends outings as members of RIFCA and the Good Sam Club.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughters: Elaine C. McDermott, Denise A. McLaughlin (Thomas) and Linda J. Siravo (Steven Saldibar). Grandmother of Naomi Siravo, Nicole Nieves, Thomas McLaughlin and Kelsey McLaughlin. Great-grandmother of Kaiden and Camilla Nieves. She was the sister of Beverly Connor. In addition to her parents, Marion was pre-deceased by her son-in-law Dennis McDermott and her brother-in-law Richard Connor.

Her funeral service will be held Monday at 12noon in St Thomas Episcopal Church, Route 44, Greenville. Visitation Monday 10:30-11:30am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial will be in Highland Park, Johnston. In lieu of flowers donations in her name may be made to Alzheimers Association, 245 Waterman Street, Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906
