Albert F. Wheeler, 89

Dateline: Attleboro, MA

Albert F. Wheeler, age 89, of Attleboro, formerly of Albemarle, NC and Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Attleboro Healthcare in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of Marilyn J. (Wagner) Wheeler, to whom he was wed on September 23, 1955.

Born in Somerville, MA on August 24, 1928, he was a loving son of the late William R. and Bertha E. (Renew) Wheeler.

Al grew up in Roslindale and was a 1946 graduate of Roslindale High School. From 1951-1953 he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War.

Prior to retiring, Mr. Wheeler had been employed for nearly thirty years for the New England Telephone Co., of which most of his career was spent in the Attleboro office. He had made his home in Attleboro for the past five years, and had previously resided in North Carolina and many years in Mansfield.

Al was a member of the United Methodist Church, as well as a fifty year member of the Masonic Lodge of Masons, a fifty year member of the Angle Stone Chapter #118 O.E.S. in Foxboro and a member of the VFW.

He enjoyed attending antique auto shows, working on his own cars and when younger as a boy enjoyed painting.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted children Stephen A. Wheeler of Attleboro, Kenneth E. Wheeler of Attleboro, Janice M, Eisenhaure and her husband Gerald of Mason, New Hampshire, and Kim E. Rose and her husband Wayne of Attleboro. He was the brother of the late Richard Wheeler and William Wheeler, and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

His funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday, July 7th at 11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Burial with military honors will follow at the Spring Brook Cemetery in Mansfield.

Visitation will be held on Saturday morning prior to the services beginning at 9:30 A.M. at the funeral home.
