Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Jeanne A. Benoit (a.k.a. Elizabeth Lindsey Everett), formerly of Gloucester, MA, passed away peacefully in her home at Flagler Beach, FL, June 19, 2018, surrounded by her family. Jeanne was born the fourth of nine children, in Boston, MA to Margaret S. Lindsey (deceased) and Frank E. Lindsey (deceased). The family moved from Mission Hill, Boston, to “the Island” in Wellesley Hills when she was young. Jeanne graduated from Wellesley High School and went onto to study at Framingham School of Nursing and Boston College earning a Master’s degree in Special Education. Jeanne was known for her generous spirit, a person who made others happy. She worked at the Cushing Hospital in Framingham, treating veterans and other patients; the Carroll Center for the Blind in Newton; Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown; Hellen Keller National Center in Long Island, NY and the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind, working with deaf, blind and multi-handicapped children and adults. She also helped train seeing-eye dogs. In her younger days, Jeanne modeled for Jorden Marsh Department stores, Caldor and the Chateau De Ville. In her later years, Jeanne studied alternative medicine and opened a counseling practice on the North Shore, called Healing By the Sea. She treated her patients with Reiki, Polarity Therapy, therapeutic massage and other holistic methods. Jeanne was an artist who loved creating paintings, pencil drawings and even crafts such as afghans. She was a life-long student who continued to hone her skills with friends and fellow artist, painting the scenic North Shore landmarks. Jeanne had a great respect for God, a special love for St. Therese (“The Little Flower of Jesus”) and for nature which drew her to spend a great deal of her life outdoors. Jeanne is survived by her husband, George E. Benoit of Flagler Beach, FL and Gloucester, MA; son, Joseph M. Mingace and partner, Marianne Healion of Hopkinton, MA; son Christopher H. Mingace and his wife, Dina Mingace of Hopkinton, MA; son, David Mingace and his partner, Heather Hoffman of Jenson Beach, FL; daughter, Gina M. and her husband Michael J. Quinn of Newton, MA; stepdaughter Danielle Benoit and her partner, Ligeia Lugli of London, England; stepdaughter Monique Benoir of Manchester-by-the Sea, MA; and stepdaughter, Marguerite Quevedo of Naples, FL. She also leaves her grandchildren Michael and Samantha Mingace, William Mingace, Richard Mingace, JD Mingace, David A. Mingace, Nicholas Mingace, Lindsey Mingace, Olivia Mingace, Gabriella Mingace, Michael Quinn, Christopher Quinn, Kaitlin Quevedo, Sophia Quevedo, Anabel Quevedo and several great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 30th at 10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick’s Church, 44 East Central Street, Natick, MA 01760 from John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, Natick, MA 01760. Burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley, MA. Calling hours for Jeanne will be held in John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, Natick, MA 01760 on Friday, June 29th from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M.
