MALDEN - Thomas S. Deveau, age 32, formerly of Lowell, died Thursday, June 21, at Mass General Hospital, after a brief illness. Grant that he sleep in peace.
He had lived in Boston before moving to Malden. He was born in Lowell, one of three children of Stephen J. and Donna M. (Gendron) Deveau of Lowell, raised in Lowell and graduated Lowell Catholic High School with the Class of 2003. He went on to earn a Bachelors Degree at Emmanuel College and was working toward a Masters Degree at Boston University.
Tom had worked at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and later at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center as a financial analyst.
Besides his parents he leaves a sister, Kristen M. Deveau and her husband Andrew Cleak of Woburn; a brother, Justin S. Deveau and his wife Lindsay Nangle of Chelmsford; many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
He was an avid Celtics fan, proud of his heritage and his ties to the Boston area, and his accomplishments as a member of the Lowell Catholic Cross Country Team. A kind and compassionate individual, he befriended many who crossed his path.
Visiting hours Monday, June 25, from 4:00 until 7:00 in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950. His funeral will begin Tuesday, June 26, at 9:00 from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St. (Rte. 38) Tewksbury. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery. Those wishing may make memorial donations in tribute to Tommy's life to either Nat’l Assn. for Mental Illness “NAMI” N.E.
