Peter C. Kent, age 77, of East Taunton, died peacefully June 19, 2018 surrounded by his family. Peter was the loving husband of Rosemarie (Piver) Kent for 48 years. He was raised and educated in Marshfield, son of the late Lyman and Esther (Gilbert) Kent. Peter was a US Air Force veteran who was stationed in Binh Thuy, Vietnam, and served with the US Army Military Police and Paratrooper Division in Germany and NY City Times Square. He was a member of Local 4 Operating Engineers and retired in 2000 from AA Will in Stoughton after 20 years. Peter was a devoted family man who especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a lifetime member of the Bertocci Club and longtime member of the SMGA Team at DW Field Golf Course. He also enjoyed gardening, weather watching and fishing in the Marshfield area.
Peter was the loving father of Tracey Acord and her husband Matt of East Taunton and David Kent of Stuart, FL; grandfather of Chelsea Kent, Stephen Kent and his wife Kaley, Faith Kent, Jenna Acord and Carlee Acord. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, sister in law Peggy Kent and former daughter in law Phyllis Kent. He was the brother of the late Mildred McGuane, Dorothy Nicholson, Frank Kent and Gilbert Kent.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Saturday, June 23, from 10am-1pm, followed by a funeral service at 1pm. Burial will be held at a later date in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Peter’s name to your favorite charity.
