Donna Marie (Bruno) Chiodo, of Everett, formerly of Somerville, passed away on Thursday, June 14th at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was 57.
Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Carole (Donovan) Bruno, and attended local schools. Donna graduated from Somerville High School with the Class of 1978.
A homemaker, Donna built a loving and supportive home for her children. She loved and enjoyed being a mother. Donna was a woman of great faith, but private and reserved. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading all different genres, spending time outdoors, listening to music and dancing. She loved to dance, and even up until the end, she was teaching her nurses and doctors how to dance in the hospital. Donna was a loving person and enjoyed being with people. She will be missed by all the lives she touched.
Donna was the devoted mother of Dina Hudson and Eric Mejia, both of Everett and the loving sister of Diane Bruno-Gillis and her late husband Lou of Medford, and Kelly Bruno of Somerville. She is also survived by one niece, three nephews, many loving cousins and dear friends.
A funeral service will be celebrated in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, on Friday, June 22nd at 7 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family from 4 through 7 PM. At the request of the family, interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Donna's name may be sent to the charitable organization of One's choice.
