Lauretta “Laura” M. (Lamonica) Guarnotta of Dorchester passed away at home on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at age 90. Born January 15th, 1928 in the North End where she was raised and educated, she lived most of her life in Dorchester and worked as a credit manager for Howard Clothes before retiring in 1978. Laura loved being a wife and a mother, and was at her happiest when she was around family.
She was preceded in death by Biagio A. Guarnotta, her husband of 35 Years. Laura was the loving mother of Anne R. Mosey of Sanford, ME, John A. Guarnotta and his wife Peggy of Whitinsville, MA, Robert P. Guarnotta and his wife Sharon of Evans, GA, James J. Guarnotta and his wife Sheila of Tyngsboro, MA, and Jeanne R Sullivan and her husband Clinton of South Boston, MA. She was the dear grandmother “Nana” of Christopher and Michael Mosey, Christine and Marc Guarnotta, Kristen Atchley, Ashley Huynh, Leesa Maxwell, James Guarnotta, and Gabrielle Sullivan. Laura was the loving great-grandmother “Nana” of Elijah Mosey, Charlotte Pickup, Saylor Kate and Sloane Atchley, and Ryder Huynh. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Mary Hurley, of Arlington, and Peggy Guarnotta, of Plymouth, and by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, June 20 from 4 PM to 8 PM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, MA 02155. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend. On Thursday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass at 10 at St. Joseph’s Church, 118 High St, Medford, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
