Obituary

Mary E. (Roberts) (Stevens) Kinsman born to Frank and Mary (Fournier) Roberts on April 11, 1929 passed away on Sunday, June 17, after a period of declining health.
A lifetime Natick resident, she attended St. Patrick’s school and graduated from Natick High School in 1946. She was captain of the softball and basketball teams and secretary of the Girl’s Athletic League. She continued to play both sports after high school, and was instrumental in starting a women’s bowling league at Fairway Sports World.
In 1948 she married Walter Stevens and together they had five children. He died suddenly in 1959. She married Perl Kinsman in 1969 and they had one daughter. He passed away in 1988.
She was employed for 35 years at Fannon’s Liquors, and continued working part time until retiring at the age of 82.
Mary spent many years as a winter resident of Magnolia Manor in St. Petersburg, Fl. She was very active in the resident’s club and shuffleboard league, and was involved in planning an annual Natick Reunion that some years had over 200 participants.
She is survived by her children: Ken Stevens & his wife Bonnie of Northboro, Kathy Caouette and her partner Bob Marin of Natick, Karen Murphy and her husband Tom of South Yarmouth, Walter Stevens and his wife Liz of Danvers, Jeanne Melanson and her husband Doug of Natick, and her daughter-in-law Sue Stevens of Natick. She was pre-deceased by her youngest son Dennis Stevens in 2015.
Also surviving are her ten grandchildren: Sean, Missy, Colleen, Carrie, Craig, Daniel, Julia, Bridget, Marc and Stephanie, as well as five great-grandsons. She is survived by her sister Jane Hladick, sister-in-law Midge Roberts, brother-in-law Bob Ward and several nieces & nephews. She was pre-deceased by her siblings: Vin Roberts, Frank Roberts, Roberta Ward and Rita Roberts.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Friday at 09:00 A.M. from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, Natick, at Natick Common, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Linus Church, 119 Hartford St. Natick. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday evening 5-8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
