Rosaria T. "Sadie" (Giammalvo) Martin, 93, of New Bedford passed away June 16, 2018 at home.
She was the wife of the late Arthur M. Martin.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Louise (Costa) Giammalvo, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.
Mrs. Martin and her late husband were the proprietors of A 1 Driving School.
She enjoyed music.
Sadie's family would like to thank Andreia, Stephanie and Marie, her CNA's and Marissa, Elizabeth, Amy, Jackie, Yvette and Suzette from Kindred Hospice for the excellent care that Sadie received.
Survivors include a son, Charles Martin and his wife Pamela Avila Martin of Dartmouth; a daughter, Ann Supriano and her husband Tony of Fairhaven; a sister, Vita Carr of New Bedford; 4 grandchildren, Bryan Lemieux, Jonathan Martin and his girlfriend Kayla Durkee, Cassandra Botelho and her husband Paul and Cody Picaro; 5 great-grandchildren, Hailey, Sarah, Aiden, Liam and Adelynn; several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Josephine Morra, Peter Giammalvo, James Giammalvo, Salvatore "Sam" Giammalvo, Jr., Joseph Giammalvo, and Francisco "Frank" Giammalvo.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 20th at 9 AM in Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted. Arrangements are with the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford.
