Rita M. Carcone, 86, formerly of Main Street, Wickford, died Friday, June 16, 2018 at Brookdale in Smithfield. She was the widow of Silvio P. Carcone. They had been married for 51 years before his death in 2002.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Loftus and Mary (McFarlane) Mills. She had most recently lived in Wickford after living in North Providence for over 50 years.
Mrs. Carcone had worked for the State of Rhode Island for over 25 years.
She is survived by her children: Angela Goelzer and her husband, Daniel of Bethesda, Maryland, Robert Carcone of Providence, Thomas Carcone of North Scituate, her grandchildren: Christina Prillaman and her husband, Zachary and their daughter, Adelais of McLean, VA, Mary Goelzer of NYC, NY and Robert Carcone of Miami, FL. She was the mother of the late Paul Carcone and sister of the late Ruth Hogan, George, William and Robert Mills.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian burial at 10am in St. Thomas Church, Fruit Hill Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Tuesday 5-7pm.
