Obituary

Charles G. Telford, Jr., "CFT", 64, of New Bedford passed away Wednesday June 13, 2018 after a long battle with cancer.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Charles G. and Alice E. (Smith) Telford, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.
Mr. Telford was former employed as a furnace operator at Rodney Metals.
During the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 914, and the Washington Club. He was very knowledgeable in trivia, especially history and geography. He will be sadly missed by many.
He is survived by his companion, Joyce Abbott; his nieces and nephews, Lynne Sears, Michael Sears, Thomas Telford, Brian Dakin, Shane Dakin, and Kelly Godshall; his great-niece, Melissa Sears; his companion's children, Roland Banville, Jr. and his companion Raegan Tripp and Cynthia Banville and her companion Ryan Pillsbury; and his companion's grandchildren, Brady Banville, Bryce Banville, and Sydney Gregoire, whom he loved as his own.
He was the brother of the late Maureen Carlsen, Diane Moura, and Pamela Godshall.
His visitation will be held on Friday June 22, 2018 at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford from 5-8 PM, with a Loyal Order of Moose Ritual at 7 PM. A graveside service will be held on Saturday June 23, 2018 at 10 AM at St. Mary's Cemetery.
