WEBSTER – Louise A. (Benoit) Freeland, 89, died Friday, June 1, 2018 in Webster Manor with her family at her side after a period of declining health. Her husband of 26 years, Donald E. Freeland, Sr. died in 1983.
She leaves 2 children, Debra L. Reich of Webster and Donald E. Freeland, Jr. of Oxford; 3 grandchildren, Jenna & her husband Ethan Doyon, Donald E. Freeland, III, and Justin Freeland along with several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her sister Judith Moyer in 2012 and by her brother, Norbert C. Benoit, Jr. in 2015.
She was born in Southbridge, a daughter of Norbert C. Benoit, Sr. and Doris A. (Angell) Benoit. She was a graduate of Mary E. Wells High School.
Mrs. Freeland worked as a secretary for American Optical Company in Southbridge for several years, leaving to raise her children.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ, Federated and was also a member of the former Nichols College Golf Course League. She was an avid Patriots fan and enjoyed golfing, gardening, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
The memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 23, 2018 in the chapel at Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster. A visitation period will take place from 9:30 until the time of service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Southbridge, MA. The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial donations in her name be made to the United Church of Christ, Federated, 4 Church Street, Webster, MA 01570.
