Richard C. “The Pen Man” Kacinski, of Medford, passed away peacefully, at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, June 12th.
Born in Derby, Connecticut, he was raised in Manchester, Connecticut and was the son of the late Chester and Sophie (Plocharczyk) Kacinski. Richard attended local schools and graduated from Manchester High School. After graduation, he enlisted into the United States Air Force and proudly served his country. Following his honorable discharge, Richard earned the nickname: ‘The Pen Man’, as he was the owner of Boston Sullivan & Company of Manchester, Connecticut and Medford and the owner of R.K. Unique of Medford. He loved his work and enjoyed serving his community.
In his spare time, Richard enjoyed being with his family and spending time with friends on the golf course. He was a proud member of the Otis Golf League. He liked working in his garden and relaxing in the yard feeding the birds. Richard was an avid sports fan and loved his Boston teams.
Richard was the beloved husband of Maureen (Sullivan) Kacinski. The two married at St. James Church in Manchester, Connecticut, and together they shared many loving years of marriage. He was the devoted father of Kathi K. Kacinski of Brunswick, Maine, Kevin R. Kacinski of Wakefield, Kelly M. Kacinski of Medford, and the late Kathleen, Scott, Brian S. and Teresa M. Kacinski. He was the brother of Carol Guliano of Manchester, Connecticut and is also the proud and loving Papa to Cecelia and Maxelene Collins. Richard is also survived by many loving friends.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, on Tuesday, June 19th at 10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4 through 7 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
