New Bedford – Joseph Ferreira Jr., age 87, passed away on June 10, 2018 at Care One in New Bedford. Born in Dartmouth, he was the husband of the late Dolores (Benoit) Ferreira and the son of the late Mary P. (Sylvia) and Joseph Ferreira Sr.
Joseph worked as a lobsterman on his boat for many years.
He is survived by 6 children: Thomas Ferreira of North Carolina, David Ferreira of New Bedford, Linda Blanchard of Georgia, Joanne Rose, Debra Ferreira and Sharon Allen, all of New Bedford; 2 siblings: Roberta Cohn and Judy Dickerson. He was also the brother of the late Norma Dean and William Ferreira.
A gathering will be held from 5-7 P.M. on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 in his remembrance with a service to take place at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford, MA.
