Stephen L. Ferris, age 93 of Canton passed away June 11th surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Dedham, he graduated from Dedham High School and previously lived in Hyde Park before moving to Canton 22 years ago. Stephen was an Army Veteran and Bronze Star Recipient of WW II and recently was featured on a YouTube Video entitled “Witness to War”. He worked for many years as a Cost Accountant for Westinghouse in Readville before retiring. Stephen was a History Buff, an avid reader and a volunteer at the Dean S. Luce School in Canton.
Beloved husband of Hilda R. (Stracqualursi). Father of Jayne Dudley and her husband Paul of Canton and Stephen L. Ferris, Jr. and his wife Joanne of Brewster. Grandfather of Michelle Hunt, Erika Dudley, Stephen Ferris and Heather Ferris. Great grandfather of Grace Hunt. Brother of Audrey Coleman of NH and the late James Ferris. Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church Canton Friday morning at 11:00. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Friday morning prior to the mass from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Burial Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Canton Veteran’s Service Department 801 Washington St. Canton, MA 02021.
