Obituary

Suzanne (Malleson) Marak of Franklin died suddenly June 10th at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington of heart failure. She was the widow of Andrew J. Marak.

Born in New York City, NY, April 18, 1938, the daughter of the late Frances (Wilson) Malleson of Downham Market, England and the late William W. Malleson, Jr. of Brooklyn, NY, Mrs. Marak had lived in Franklin for the past 55 years.

Mrs. Marak was a wife, mother, friend and English teacher. She taught for many years in the Franklin Public Schools, sharing her passion for reading and grammar.

Above all else she was a consummate giver. She was exceptionally generous to her beloved parish, St. Mary's of Franklin, volunteering in many of its organizations, including the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Her generosity did not stop there. She also was a regular driver for FISH of Franklin for many years. She was happiest when she was helping others and found joy in giving. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and many close friends.

She is survived by her son Christopher Marak of Quincy, her daughter Marianne Kitchenka of Arlington, and her son Daniel and his wife Alessandra Marak of South Windsor, CT. She is also survived by her grandchildren Douglas and Lucy Kitchenka of Arlington, and Benjamin Marak of South Windsor, CT.

In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is survived by her sister Mary Briggs and her husband David of NY, and her brother William Malleson and his wife Claudia of FL.

Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 16th in St. Mary's Church Franklin at 10:00 a.m.
Calling hours will be in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street Franklin on Friday from 4-7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in her name to Friends of Franklin, 50 Corbin St., Franklin MA 02038.
