Obituary

Guido J. Leone passed away peacefully in the company of his loving family. He was 89. Born and raised in Newton, he was the son of the late Clemente and Carmella (Antonellis) Leone.
After high school, Guido enlisted in the Army and served during the Korean War. After his discharge, he was married in 1954 and settled with his wife Rosemary in Medford. He worked for many years as a salesman of imported foods and specialties. He loved spending time with his family. He also made the occasional visit to Suffolk Downs where he enjoyed the sport of kings. He was a devoted family man and liked reading and doing cross word puzzles with his granddaughters.

The beloved husband of the late Rosemary (Mantia) Leone, he was a devoted father to Diane Leone and her husband Eugene Giacchino of Winchester, Cheryl Leone and her husband Ismael Sanchez of Stoneham. He was a loving grandfather of Alexandra and Victoria Giacchino. Guido was a dear brother to Antoinette Baratta, Joseph Leone, Jeanette Barresi, Richard Leone, Carmella Vashon and the late Donato and Alfred Leone. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was also the dear brother-in-law of Giusto and the late Evelyn DiMaiti and well as uncle to Carl DiMaiti and his wife Mary and the late Carol DiMaiti.

The funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday, June 15th at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Mary Church, 155 Washington Street, Winchester, at 11 AM, concluding with Military Honors. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 PM.
