John Harold Chiaradonna, Sr., 75, of Chester, NH, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 10, 2018, in the Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH. He was born in Revere, MA on February 23, 1943, a son of the late John and Gertrude (Hovasse) Chiaradonna. John was a Firefighter for the City of Chelsea, MA, retiring after 19 years of service to his community. He owned and operated J.C. Fence Company Peabody, MA for several years. He also operated the Mizpah Horse Farm in Derry. John was a member of the Chester Congregational Baptist Church, Chester Seniors and the Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, Grace (Collette) Chiaradonna of Chester; two daughters, Cheryl Dale and husband Christopher of Derry, and Mary Ramsey and husband Michael of Epsom, NH; seven grandchildren, Caitlin Dale, Christopher Dale Jr., Bridget Dale, Matthew Chiaradonna, Amanda Johnson, Alyssa Jackson and Dani Rosa; six great grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Newman; one brother, Ernest Chiaradonna, his daughter-in-law, Mary Flynn-Raymond; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife June (Davey) Chiaradonna, his son, John Chiaradonna Jr., and one brother William Chiaradonna.
Calling hours were held on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 4 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Funeral Services were held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 10:00am in the Chester Congregational Baptist Church, 4 Chester Road, Chester, NH. Burial followed in the Great Hill Cemetery, Rt 121A, Chester. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts, 30 Lyman Street, Westborough, MA 01581, Attn: Development Office.
