Rose G. Teixeira
Longtime Tewksbury Resident

Rose G. (Leva) Teixeira, a 63-year resident of Tewksbury, passed away at Sutton Hill Rehabilitation Center on June 8, 2018 after a short period of declining health.

Rose was just a few weeks short of her 97th birthday.

Born in Cambridge Massachusetts to Joseph and Josephine (Defrancisco) Leva, she attended the Cambridge school system.

Rose was the beloved wife of Walter Teixeira whom passed away in 1984. She was also predeceased by her granddaughter Lisa Stanton and her best friend Mary Stephens.

Rose loved working in her yard. Just a few years ago she could be seen mowing her lawn and tending to her flowers. In fact, between the age of 70 and her passing she went through 5 lawnmowers. She very much enjoyed her Saturday shopping and lunch dates with her daughter Betty, Sundays with her son Michael and frequent calls from her son George.

Rose was very dedicated to her family and was always able to ensure that all her grandchildren and great grandchildren received gifts on their birthdays, holidays and all special occasions.

She is survived and will be deeply missed by her three children and their spouses, George Teixeira and his wife MeeLing of Chaparral New Mexico, Elizabeth Stanton and her husband Stephen of Cambridge Massachusetts and Michael Teixeira and his wife Christine of Dracut Massachusetts. She is also survived by her grandchildren Melody Teixeira, April Teixeira, Nicholas Teixeira, Keith Stanton, Amie Teixeira, Kyle Teixeira and Ross Teixeira. Great grandchildren surviving Rose are Annie, O’Ceon, Luca, Kalvin, Callie, Michael, Decklan and Garrett. She is also survived by her sister Joanna Caruso of North Carolina and Mary Hall of Hollywood Florida whose daily calls she very much enjoyed.

Rose was predeceased by her sisters Connie Murphy, Anna Girdvainis and Rita Pelrine and her brothers Guy Leva, Joey Leva and Anthony Leva.

Calling hours are Friday, June 15, from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury, immediately followed by a prayer service to be held at the funeral home. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
