Justinas Cesnavicius of Croton on Hudson, NY died on June 9, 2018 at Hudson Valley Hospital Center. He was 99. Mr. Cenavicius worked as a Property Manager for Mary Immaculate High School/St. Augustine’s, Eagle Park, Ossining, NY for 30 years before retiring in 1992. Mr. Cesnavicius was born August 23, 1918 in Vilkaviskis, Lithunania to Antanas and Marija Cesnavicius . He was educated in Vilkaviskis and served as a Sergeant in the Lithuania Army. While working for a short while as a police officer, he met and married the mayor’s daughter in Vilkaviskis. Justinas lived in Croton on Hudson for the past 27 years. Before that he lived in Peekskill from 1977 to 1991 and in Ossining from 1961 to 1977. He was a bee keeper, avid gardener and custom furniture fabricator. He was eminently practical and extremely resourceful. He will be remembered for his thoughtfulness and ability to repair or build anything. He was selfless, caring and loving to everyone he met. He is survived by sons Algirdas of Croton on Hudson and Romas of Sparta, NC, his daughter Zita of Garrison, NY, grandson Justin of California, his sister Zita Braziene of Vilkaviskis and several nieces and nephews in Lithuania. Family members who died earlier include his wife Eleonora in 1992 and his grandson Alan in 2016. There are no reposing hours. The funeral Mass is Tuesday, June 12th 10:00am at St. Augustine Church, Ossining. Interment will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Putnam Valley. Arrangements by John G. Crawford Funeral Director.
