Obituary

Doria B. Tremblay, 100, formerly of Pearl St., Manville, RI, died Thursday, June 6, 2018, at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. She was the loving wife of the late Raoul J. Tremblay. They were married on May 28, 1938.
Born in Asbestos, P.Q., Canada, she was a daughter of the late Napoleon and Leone (Lambert) Boucher. She was one of 11 children, all of whom pre-deceased her. The family moved to Burlington, Vermont in 1925 where Doria attended St. Anthony's School and lived on a farm.
After her schooling, Doria was employed by Queen City Cotton Mill and Berkshire Hathaway as a weaver. Later, she worked as a kitchen aid at the Diamond Hill Nursing Center for 15 years before retiring in 1992.
Doria was adept at puzzles, her favorites depicting cats. She took in the fresh air by walking and was nimble on her toes while dancing even well into her late 90s. She enjoyed reading, cards, bingo, pokeno and wrestling, particularly John Cena.
Doria marked her 100th birthday this past January 17th with a party attended by family and friends. She will be remembered as a vivacious spirit who loved to sing and lit up a room. Everyone who knew her loved spending time with her.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol Tremblay and her husband Fred of Santa Fe, New Mexico. She was the mother of the late Albert Tremblay and Jane Wedin and is the mother-in-law of Elizabeth Tremblay of North Providence. She is also survived by her grandchildren Cynthia Dixon and her husband Brian of Cumberland, Kristen Conroy and her husband Ed of North Providence, Brian Wedin and his wife Cindy of NH and Mark Wedin of Woonsocket. She was the grandmother of the late Ralph and Dennis Wedin. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter and several generations of nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be Tuesday at 11:00 am in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Avenue, Woonsocket. Visiting hours are Tuesday morning from 10:00-11:00 prior to the service. Burial in the Grandview Cemetery in Charlotte, Vermont will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation 2348 Post Rd. # 104 Warwick R.I. 02886.
