Carmelita A. (Gaeta) Scarano, a longtime resident of Melrose and formerly of Malden, passed away on June 8, 2018. She was 93 years old.
Carmelita was born and raised in Naples, Italy. She married her husband during WWII in 1947 and became a United States Citizen in 1954.
Carmelita was the wife of the late Louis J. Scarano. She was the beloved mother of Steven L. Scarano of Melrose. Carmelita was the sister of Assunta Valerio and the late Renard, Pepino, Felice, and Mimi Gaeta. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home 865 Main Street, Malden on Wednesday June 13th at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday June 12th from 5-8pm. Interment will be in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
