Berjouhi “Betty” Tamzarian

Manchester– Berjouhi “Betty” Tamzarian, 81, died June 7, 2018 following a period of declining health.

She was born in Aleppo, Syria, on October 22, 1936, the daughter of Levon and Mariam Khourshidian, both survivors of the Turkish Genocide that took place in their native Armenia as the exodus lead them to Aleppo.

Berjouhi was fortunate to earn a full scholarship to the Melkonian Academy in Cyprus where she would meet Vartkes. They came to America to continue their educations and begin their American Dreams.

While living in New York they were the first stop for many members of their families who were to follow in their footsteps of life here in the US. They eventually moved to New Hampshire and have called it home since. She became a Realtor and owned and operated Thelma Katz & Associates, Inc, for many years.
She was past president of the Manchester Women’s Club, was a Manchester Art Commissioner, served on the State Highway Commission and many other community organizations & clubs.

Known for her knitting and fashion of her own cloths she was a thread in so many lives and truly enjoyed the company of all her family and friends that became the fabric of such a Full & Amazing Life.

Family members include her husband of nearly 60 years, Vartkes “Victor” Tamzarian of Manchester, two sons, Vaughn , Ara and his wife Tamara of Manchester, seven grandchildren, Anthony, Kenara, Benon, Matara, Cuzon, Adrian, & Ashton, two brothers, Khatchig and Haratoun & two sisters Nectar and Hermine and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be on Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 4 to 7 pm at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St., Manchester, NH.

A prayer service will take place on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 10 am in the funeral home.

Committal prayers will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, 765 Brown Ave.

J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
