Sean Robert Kelly, 47, of Hoboken, New Jersey died suddenly on June 6th.
Born May 3, 1971, Sean was raised in Norfolk, the son of Robert and Kathleen (O’Rourke) Kelly of Harwich Port formerly of Norfolk.
Sean was a 1989 graduate of King Philip Regional High School where he was a varsity athlete in three sports. After high school, he attended Boston College and graduated in 1993 with a degree in business.
Upon graduation Sean moved to New York City where he worked as an equities trader for Merrill Lynch and Knight Capital Group for 22 years. His job took him from New York to Hong Kong and back again, but through it all he remained a loyal Boston sports fan, particularly of the Red Sox and Patriots.
Sean as an avid golfer, was always on the go, and had encyclopedic knowledge of 70’s yacht rock.
Sean is the father of two lovely children John (Jack) and Margaret (Maggie) Kelly and the former husband of Catherine Curran Kelly.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his sister Erin Watson and her husband Jeff of Wrentham and his brother Stephen Kelly and his wife Pia of Norfolk. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Timothy and Caroline Watson, and Nyla and Olivia Kelly.
His funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 11 in St. Jude’s Church, Norfolk at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be private.
