Florence C. Lalancette, 96, of Woonsocket died Saturday June 2, 2018 at the Holiday in Manville. She was the loving wife of the late Gerard M. Lalancette. They were married on May 23, 1953 and shared almost 30 years together until his passing in February of 1982.
Born in Woonsocket she was the daughter of the late Ovide and Oliva (Saulnier) Rondeau. She was a lifelong resident of Woonsocket.
In her earlier years Mrs. Lalancette was employed at the Argonne Worsted Mill and later at Miller Electric. As a homemaker Florence cared for family members in their later years.
Florence was a longtime communicant of Precious Blood Parish and a member of the Crepeau Court Tenants Association.
Florence was a sports fan and most especially a staunch member of Red Sox Nation. She lived and breathed the Sox. Florence loved to read, was a good listener and relished being around her family. She was a friendly and outgoing person who treasured her faith and family.
She is survived by a daughter Diane A. Lalancette of Lincoln. She was the sister of the late Lucien, Edmond and Leo Rondeau and Irene Tellier. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10:00 am in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Thursday from 8:30-9:45 am, prior to Mass, in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of RI 245 Waterman St. # 306 Providence, RI 02906.
