Obituary

Mr. Raymond L. Petty, 85, of Salem, NH, passed away on Friday June 1st at the Salemhaven Nursing Home with his wife and family present. Born in Andover, he is the son of the late Harold and Blanche (Sanborn) Petty. Mr. Petty had been an area resident all his life. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War and also served honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired as a mechanic having worked for Craig Systems and P.T. Brake Lining. Mr. Petty was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8349 in Methuen, the Citizens Band Club of Salem, NH, and the Square Dancing Group in Londonderry and Manchester. Most of all he loved to spend time with his family. Mr. Petty was pre-deceased by his four sisters; Florence Cere, Ruth Savoie, Dorothy Tucci, and Priscilla Bisson, and four brothers; Harold Petty, Charles Petty, Richard Petty, and Peter H. Lane Sr. He is survived by his wife Doris T. (Valliere) Petty of Salem, NH, two nieces; Anne Marie Cather and Hannah Elizabeth Gendron, his nephew; SSG Kristopher Joseph Day-Bottai USAF, and several other nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, June 7th from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Edgar J. Racicot Inc. Funeral Home, 1400 Broadway Rd., Dracut.
