Obituary

OCHELTREE, Pamela Jean (Young), 58, of Attleboro, MA, passed away suddenly on Monday, May 28, 2018, at Boston Medical Center after battling cancer for several years.

Born in Somerville, MA to Robert and Rhoda (Gray) Young, she will be remembered for her fighting spirit and strong determination to overcome.

In childhood, she enjoyed all the things a city kid does; playing in the streets until the lights came on, climbing fences and skating in the backyard where Dad created a private skating rink. She grew up in and around Boston and kept in contact with many childhood friends. She was the mother of four amazing young adult children and “Grandma” to ten grandchildren ranging in age from 23 to 1. The last family gathering was to celebrate the first birthday of her newest grandbaby.

She loved to bake brownies, make peanut butter fudge and cook her famous meatballs. Additionally growing flowers, staying connected with friends from childhood and family gatherings kept joy and meaning in her life. For several years, she was the caregiver to her aging father, extending his life and his ability to remain at home into his later years with her live in care.

Pam is survived by her mother, Rhoda M. Young, four adult children, Michell L. Young, Jacklyn B. Ocheltree, John M. Ocheltree and Joshua J. Ocheltree, seven siblings, Rodney M. Young (Debra), Richard Powers, Joyce A. Hartshorn (Gregory), Steven M. Young (Norma) and Robert S. Young (Janice) and Michelle I. Simpson, ten grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Robert S. Young.
