TEWKSBURY - Mrs. Mary L. (Miranda) Donahue-St. Louis, age 101, a former active member at St. Casimir’s Church in Lowell, died Wednesday morning, May 30, thirteen days short of her 102nd Birthday, at Northwood Health Care in Lowell. She was predeceased by her husbands, John T. Donahue and Gerard St. Louis.
Mary was born in New Bedford, on June 12, 1916, a daughter of the late Joaquim and Virginia (Linhares) Miranda, raised in Cambridge, but lived the greater part of her life in Tewksbury. During WWII, she worked at both the Army and Navy Bases in Boston. She retired from Raytheon in Waltham after seventeen years of service in the Missile Assembly Division as an A.S.A. Group Leader. Mary was a devout member of St. Casimir’s National Catholic Church in Lowell. She held lifetime membership in the Tewksbury Golden Age Club. Mary loved her time spent with friends at the Tewksbury Senior Center, and held membership in the Tewksbury V.F.W. Auxiliary, Post 8164 where she had served as Club Chaplain, Vice President and President.
Mary leaves her children, John A. Donahue and his wife Carolyn (Hyatt) of Wilmington, Maureen F. Avery and her husband Francis of FL, Thomas J. Donahue and his wife Mary (Cote) of Hudson, NH; step-children, Richard St. Louis and his wife Catherine (Bean) of Nashua, NH, Andrew St. Louis of Lowell, and Raymond St. Louis of Nashua; a sister, Virginia R. Adams of Windham, NH; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; and was predeceased by her step-son, Donald St. Louis; and siblings, Joaquin Miranda and Hilda Deal.
Visiting hours Sunday, June 3, from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950. Her Funeral Mass will be held Monday, June 4, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Casmire’s Church, 268 Lakeview Avenue, Lowell. Please meet at church on Monday. Burial will be in Tewksbury Cemetery.
