Mr. Robert Arthur Park, a resident of Andover, MA and beloved husband to the late Mrs. Louise Ann (Doherty) Park, passed away in his home surrounded by his loving children. Mr. Park was also predeceased by the mother of his children, Mrs. Catherine Theresa (Martino) Park.
Robert was born in Wilmington, MA to the late Philip and Dorothy (Rodden) Park on April 10, 1930. He was 88 years old.
Mr. Park had proudly served in the Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War.
Robert worked for most of his adult life for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in addition to being a lifelong farmer. Robert’s passion was his farm and his family. He was known as a storyteller and loved to make others laugh. He was proud of his farm and fleet of heavy equipment. He used it often to assist family and friends. He will be remembered as a strong, hardworking, generous man with a great sense of humor.
Robert will be sadly missed by his children; Karen E. and husband Donald Roy of Andover, Regina M. Currid of Andover, Robert A. Park Jr and wife Joan of Andover, Sonia J. and husband Mark Holman of Alexandria VA, Sally A. and husband Michael Francis of Andover.
Robert was also predeceased by son Charles F. Park.
Robert was the proud Papa to 13 grandchildren; Michael Hadley of Everett MA, Catherine Currid and her husband Devin Lynch of Colorado Springs CO, Christopher Currid of Everett MA, Richard Currid of Kennebunk ME, Stephen Currid of Topsfield MA, Jennifer Currid of Henderson NV, Andrea Pereira of Port Deposit MD, Mark Pereira of Las Vegas NV, Rebecca Haley-Park and her wife Tara of Ipswich MA, Michelle Park and her husband Kevin Moran of Haverhill MA, Jessica Prifti and her husband Thomas of Salem MA, Catherine and Caroline Francis of Andover, MA.
Robert was predeceased by siblings; Phyllis Morse, Richard Park, Beverly Briggs, William Park, Martha Rice, Shirley Bower, David Park, Allen Park, Ronald Park, Pricilla Park, Nancy Park and Edward Park.
Robert is survived by siblings; Marjorie Belloir of Andover MA, Philip Park Jr and his wife Laurette of Windham NH, Ruth Fuss of Evergreen Park Il, Pauline Park of Phoenix AZ, Thomas Park of Chelmsford MA, Kenneth Park and his wife Nancy of Pittsfield NH and Lloyd Park and his wife Patricia of Sarasota FL.
Robert also had dozens of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Thursday, May 31, 2018, from 4 to 7 PM. His Funeral will be celebrated at the West Parish Chapel, 210 Lowell St, Andover, MA on Friday, June 1, 2018, at 10:00 AM. Please note the Chapel is located inside the cemetery grounds.
