Karen L. (Grecoe) Astle, of Arlington, MA passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Monday, May 21, 2018.
Born in Indianapolis, Indiana on July 12, 1953, Karen was the daughter of the late John H. and Wanda M. (Garczynski) Grecoe Jr. Karen graduated from Fitchburg State College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. She spent her early career years working in various office positions and then helped manage and run a family business. Her real love though was children and cooking. She spent several years tutoring elementary aged students. She was so devoted to them and did everything in her power to help them succeed. And you would never find a store bought dinner or dessert in her house. Everything was made from scratch and with only the freshest ingredients. Trying new recipes and perfecting favorite ones was a pastime of hers.
Karen is survived by her sister’s and brother’s; Kim M. and her husband Keith Sherwood of Topsfield, Kanella A. Denoncourt of Bradford, John H. and his wife Nancy Grecoe of Newmarket, New Hampshire, Kane J. Greco of Indialantic, Florida and Francine and her husband Geoffrey P. Mc Connell of Arlington, several aunts, uncles and nieces and a dear great-niece and nephew.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 31 at 10:30 am at St. Augustine Church, Andover, MA. Interment will follow at the West Parish Cemetery in Andover, MA.
