Arthur Benson Nolen, age 88, of Water Valley, MS died peacefully Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at his home. He was born April 21, 1930 in Water Valley to the late Moody and Mildred Benson Nolen and worked as a lineman for the City of Water Valley Electric Company. He enjoyed rabbit hunting, and his grandsons and great grands were the loves of his life. He was member of Big Springs Baptist Church where he was baptized, and he always kept his membership there.
Visitation is planned for Friday, May 25, 2018 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 12 Noon until 2:00 PM. Services will follow at 2:00 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Fletcher Moorman and Bro. Sally officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery with Michael Richardson, Brandon Richardson, Tyler Richardson, David Thomas, Kevin Thomas, Steven Thomas, and Christian Thomas serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Bennett Stevens, Eddie Magee, Robert Walker, Joe Newman, Johnny Perkins, Al Davis, Andy Hall, and Jimmy Chapman.
Arthur is survived by his wife, Faye Nolen of Water Valley, MS; a daughter, Kay Nolen (Walter) Richardson of Water Valley, MS; a sister, Nell (Taylor) Thomas of Tupelo, MS; a brother, Luke M. Nolen of Southaven, MS; two grandsons, Michael Nolen (Leighann) Richardson and Walter Brandon (Jessica) Richardson; and two great grandchildren, Tyler Nolen Richardson and Anna Kate Richardson.
