BARNIAK - Carmella "Mellie" Barniak, 70, of Fernandina Beach passed away Sunday morning, May 20, 2018.
She was born November 28, 1947 in Fernandina Beach, FL and was a life-long resident of the area. She was a member of the River of Praise Worship Center. Mrs. Barniak was a devoted Christian and a most loving wife. She was loving and compassionate to others. She liked to fish and loved going to church. and she loved her two Cocker Spaniels, Gus and Charlie.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 27 years, John Barniak, Jr. of Fernandina Beach, FL; a son, Joey Gill of Brunswick, GA; three daughters, Michelle VanDeren of Yulee, FL, Chrissy Gill of Waycross, GA and Gina Fertgus of Fernandina Beach; a brother, Michael Beckham of Columbia, SC; a sister, Vickie Peters of Fernandina Beach; 16 grandchildren, one great grandchild; sister in law, Brenda Rowe and her friends.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 26, in the Stephens Chapel at Green Pine Funeral Home.
