Judith K. “Judy” Berube
Retired Tewksbury Educator and Clinical Mental Health Counselor

TEWKSBURY: Judith K. (Kane) Berube, age 76, a resident of Tewksbury for 50 years, and longtime communicant of St. William’s Parish, passed away unexpectedly on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Somerville Hospital.

She was the beloved wife of Richard O. Berube, who passed away on March 2, 1999.

Born in Lowell on July 18, 1941, she was the daughter of the late James F. Kane and the late Alice C. (Murtagh) Kane.

Judy was raised in Lowell. She attended the Academy of Notre Dame in Tyngsboro and was graduated from Lowell High School.

Judy continued her education at Boston University, where she received her B.A. Degree in Business Education. She later attended Rivier University, where she achieved her Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health.

Judy taught in the Tewksbury Public Schools for over 30 years. Following her career as an educator, Judy worked as a Mental Health Counselor.

Judy treasured the time spent with her children and grandchildren, playing the piano, and traveling.

She is survived by her five children, Richard O. Berube, Jr. and his partner Rick Hamilton, of Long Island City, NY, Elizabeth A. Fox, of Billerica, Alison B. Sullivan and her husband Timothy, of Acton, Joanne B. Gibbons and her husband Robert, of North Andover, and Monica C. Berube and her wife Deborah Dimodana, of Newburyport; seven grandchildren, Alexander Fox, of Allston, Madeleine and Grace Fox, both of Billerica, Emily and Abigail Sullivan, both of Acton, Jacob and Eloise Gibbons, both of North Andover; two brothers, Robert Kane and his wife Cheryl, of Kennebunk, ME, and James Kane and his wife Marcena, of New River, AZ; also many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Calling hours are Sunday, May 20, from 3-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral procession will begin on Monday, May 21, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the charity of your choosing.
