Obituary

Annette M. Beaulieu, 84, of Woonsocket died Saturday May 12, 2018 at The Friendly Home with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of the late Robert J. “Bob” Beaulieu. They were married on March 5, 1955 and shared over 60 years together until his passing in May 2015. Born and raised in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late Emile and Justine (Lambaer) Platiau. She was a lifelong resident of the city.
Annette was employed at the Argonne worsted mill, Commodore Cleaners and Wee Wash It Laundry before retiring.
Annette was a longtime active member of St. Agatha’s Parish. Annette was very involved with many organizations in the community including Librarian for the Beethoven Student Musicians, secretary for the children of Mary at St. Agatha’s, Corresponding Secretary for Kappa Beta Gamma Club (Catholic boy and girls club), President of the P.T.A. of Bernon Heights
School, and Vice-President of the United Cadets of America Ship # 10 for ten years. She was the Past President of United Cadets Alumni Club.
Annette was also in the Jaycee chorus led by Leonard Maher. She sang in the St. Agatha, Holy Family, and St. Charles choirs for over 25 years led by Fr. Thomas Trepanier later by his brother Joseph Trepanier. She was a soloist for many weddings and funerals. She served as the president of the St. Agatha’s senior citizens for 17 years and was the Sunshine Lady. She was also in the St. Agatha Ladies Guild and St. Joseph senior citizens.
Annette enjoyed traveling and was an avid card player. She belonged to the Memorie Lane Pitch League, Gerry & Mary pitch league, Oscar crib league, Heartside & Town hall bowling leagues.
She is survived by her daughter Paulette J. Beaulieu of Woonsocket. She was the mother of the late Robert P. Beaulieu. She was the sister of Lucienne Croteau and Irene Mayer both of Woonsocket and the late Emile Platiau and Emilienne Lapierre. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
Her funeral will be Saturday at 9:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Agatha Church, Joffre St. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Friday from 4-9 pm.
