Obituary

Clara Branco (Cordeiro) DaSilva, 102, of Lawrence, passed away Wednesday, May 9th at Northwood Rehabilitation Center. Born in The Azores, Portugal, she was an area resident for over forty years. Mrs. DaSilva was a school teacher for over 63 years, with 40 years in Lawrence public schools. She was a parishioner of the former St. Peter and St. Paul Church, as well as an active member of Corpus Christi Parish. Mrs. DaSilva participated in Mary Immaculate's Adult Day Program and she was a member of the Lawrence Portuguese-American Holy Ghost Fraternity, and the Portuguese-American Ladies Council. Mrs. DaSilva is the widow of Jose DaSilva and is survived by: her loving Goddaughter Diane Maddox-Faria and her wife Wren Maddox-Faria; two great Goddaughters; Stephanie Soares and Christina Maddox; Her beloved nephew; Jose “Casimiro” Cordeiro; Clara was a lifelong beloved Faria family member. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Mary Immaculate Adult Day Program for taking such good care of Mrs. DaSilva.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, May 13th from 3:00 to 5:00 pm and from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Edgar J. Racicot Inc. Funeral Home, 1400 Broadway Rd, Dracut. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 14th at 9:00 am at St. Monica Church in Methuen, burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence.
